External Pelvic Floor Manual Therapy

Pelvic floor health is for everyone. Whether you're navigating chronic tension, healing from an injury, preparing for childbirth, or simply seeking a deeper connection to your body, this work offers a gentle, respectful way to reconnect with your pelvic region and support your whole system.

What Is External Pelvic Floor Manual Therapy?

External Pelvic Floor Manual Therapy is a hands-on approach that works with the muscles, fascia, and connective tissue surrounding the pelvis—without any internal contact. This includes the inner thighs, glutes, low back, sacrum, abdomen, and the external pelvic floor. These areas often hold layers of tension and compensation patterns that can affect posture, breath, digestion, sexual health, and overall well-being.

This work supports pelvic balance, mobility, and awareness, helping the body find more ease, strength, and adaptability.

What It Can Help With

External pelvic floor therapy may support people experiencing:

  • Chronic pelvic pain or tightness

  • Low back, hip, or sacroiliac (SI) joint pain

  • Core weakness or instability

  • Discomfort during or after pregnancy

  • Pain or tension during sex

  • Urinary urgency or frequency

  • Digestive discomfort

  • Difficulty breathing deeply or fully

  • Postural imbalances or restricted movement

This work can also be incredibly helpful for:

  • Preparing for childbirth by improving pelvic balance and awareness

  • Postpartum recovery by supporting gentle reconnection and realignment

  • People of all genders healing from trauma, surgery, or chronic holding patterns in the pelvic region

A Trauma-Aware, Embodied Approach

We understand that working with the pelvis is deeply personal. Our approach is grounded in consent, choice, and presence. Sessions are guided by your pace, your comfort, and your goals. You are always invited to be an active participant in your own process—your voice, sensations, and boundaries are central to the work.

We integrate gentle techniques with breathwork, somatic awareness, and movement to support nervous system regulation and embodied integration.

You don’t need a specific diagnosis to benefit from pelvic floor therapy. If you’re curious about your pelvic health or want to feel more at home in your body, you’re welcome here.

What to Expect

Sessions are offered fully clothed or with draping, depending on your comfort and the areas being addressed. We’ll begin with a collaborative intake and develop a plan that feels supportive and aligned with your needs.

This work may include:

  • Gentle myofascial and neuromuscular techniques

  • Breath and movement coordination

  • Somatic education and awareness practices

  • Supportive home care suggestions (if desired)
